Recovery drills without the panic

Documents prepared for a structured drill

A restore drill should feel closer to a fire extinguisher check than to an emergency. Devflow Hub schedules drills on ordinary weeknights with spare hardware, a printed Offline Wallet Recovery Planner page, and a kitchen timer — not during a market swing and not while exhausted.

Set a narrow success definition

Decide beforehand what “done” means: device wiped and restored from backup material, wallet visible on an offline screen, log filled. Scope creep (“also reorganize the safe”) belongs on a later checklist.

Capture friction in complete sentences

When you hesitate, write the hesitation: “Cable unmarked”, “Passphrase policy unclear about spacing”, “Steward contact outdated”. Those sentences become the next planner edit. Vague notes like “confusing” help nobody in six months.

Stop while you still have attention

If the drill reveals a broken seal or missing plate, stop the timed exercise and switch to incident mode with a co-steward. Continuing the timer while improvising tends to produce unsafe shortcuts.

Practice this inside Recovery Desk Foundations, or ask questions via contact. Reminder: Not Financial Advice.
